He is Risen!

He is Risen!

The Verse (1 Corinthians 15:3–4, NKJV)

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.

If someone asked you to explain the Christian faith in just a few sentences, what would you say? With so many teachings, stories and passages in the Bible, it might feel like a big question to answer.

Interestingly, the apostle Paul faced that exact challenge. Writing to the early church, he summarised the very heart of the gospel in just a few lines. His message was simple, clear and powerful: Christ died for our sins, He was buried and He rose again on the third day! That’s the foundation of everything.

First, Christ died for our sins. Humanity has always wrestled with the reality of brokenness. People make mistakes, hurt one another and often drift away from the life God intended. The Bible describes this condition as sin — not just individual wrong actions, but a deeper separation from God.

The remarkable part of the gospel is that Jesus stepped into that problem willingly. His death on the cross was not an accident or tragedy. It was the ultimate act of sacrifice and love. By giving His life, He carried the weight of sin so that restoration between God and humanity could become possible.

Second, He was buried. This might seem like a small detail, but it confirms something important: Jesus truly died. His followers placed His body in a tomb, and for a moment it appeared that hope itself had been buried with Him. The dreams of His disciples must have felt shattered. The story seemed finished.

But God was not finished... On the third day, Jesus rose again! The resurrection is the turning point of the entire gospel story. What looked like defeat became victory. The grave could not hold Him and death itself was overcome. In that moment, despair was replaced with hope, and fear gave way to joy. Condemnation was wiped out by deliverance.

The resurrection also confirms that Jesus is exactly who He claimed to be. His teachings, His promises and His authority are validated by the empty tomb. Because He lives, the story of faith does not end with loss or failure.

For believers today, this truth changes how life is viewed. Challenges still come, disappointments still occur and the world is not always easy to navigate. Yet the resurrection reminds us that God specialises in bringing life out of situations that seem irreparable.

- The cross shows God’s love.
- The tomb shows the reality of His sacrifice.
- The resurrection shows His victory.

These three truths form the unshakable foundation of the Christian message. When everything else feels uncertain, the gospel remains steady. Christ died, He was buried and He rose again. He delivered us from eternal damnation and that changes everything!

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the incredible gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You that His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for sin and opened the way for reconciliation with You.

Help me never lose sight of the power and hope found in the resurrection. When life feels uncertain, remind me that the empty tomb is proof that Your victory is greater than any challenge I may face. Strengthen my faith and help me live each day in the light of the gospel.

Amen.
